Stronger Strokes. Healthier Shoulders. Faster Swimming.

From competitive swimmers to triathletes to recreational lap swimmers — ESPT’s Swimming Program restores mobility, power, and endurance so you can return to the water with confidence.

Overview

Swimming places unique, repetitive demands on the body: shoulder endurance, core stability, hip drive, and streamlined body control. Overuse injuries are common due to high-volume training and stroke repetition, often limiting performance in both training and competition.

At ESPT, our Swimming Program blends orthopedic rehabilitation expertise with swimming-specific performance training. We focus on helping athletes recover from pain, restore efficient mechanics, and build the strength and stamina needed for powerful, pain-free swimming.

Common Injuries We See in Swimmers

  • Shoulder pain & impingement (“swimmer’s shoulder”)
  • Rotator cuff tendinopathy & labral strain from repetitive overhead strokes
  • Neck pain related to breathing mechanics
  • Low back pain from dolphin kicks and lumbar extension
  • Hip and knee strain from breaststroke kicks or push-offs
