Powerlifting commonly requires a significant level of strength and power, and proper body mechanics to move the bar smoothly and efficiently. Sports injuries related to powerlifting are commonly due to ligament sprains, muscular strains, or repetitive overload injuries due to training intensities of your lift program and your body’s need for a de-load cycle to reduce overtraining.
At Elite Sports Physical Therapy, we will start with treating your area of pain and improve your overall flexibility to improve your general movement after injury. Our physical therapist will assess your lifting pattern, muscle sequencing, and joint stability to identify pattern of dysfunction or overtraining which may have led to injury. Our gym is equipped with a squat rack, flat bench, Olympic barbell with up to 300-lb plates, and dumbbell set up to 50 lbs. Whether you’re interested to return back to strength training at the gym, Crossfit, recreational or competitive power lifter, ESPT has the experience and equipment to help you recover.
