Team sports commonly require a high level of agility, speed, power, and hand-eye coordination. Sports injuries related to team sports are commonly due to ligament sprains, muscular strains, or repetitive overload injuries due to the nature of team sport play and the rigor of team practice and conditioning.
At Elite Sports Physical Therapy, our sports therapy program involves improving your overall flexibility and strength, improving muscular control and joint stability through a dynamic, movement-based program. We often combine hand-eye coordination and reactive training to improve explosiveness, power, and speed. In order to prevent re-injury upon return to sport, our patients often progress through advanced agility and plyometrics drills with sport specific movement to best simulate the practice/competition environment. We believe that when appropriate, there is always a way to integrate your passion of sport into your physical therapy program.
